Survey for Evaluation of Website

Improved Brief for Website

The website I am going to produce is going to be directly focused on the charity which I have chosen; the charity which I have chosen for my website is Comic Relief. The reasons for my choice of this charity is that I believe in most of the principles Comic Relief stand for, the principles which they have are that they wish to improve all countries hit by poverty and disease. The charity travels to these countries and brings aid to help them, such as Medicine for the sick, Food and drink for the starving. In this country the UK, they also help the Homeless Organizations, Drug Projects, and also work with the elderly for they are in need of constant attention. I have a direct interest in what Comic Relief try to do to catch the awareness of the public eye, Ie: Voluntary work and TV shows, Comic Relief also have a one off show every 2 years where they get famous faces and the public to do silly things for donations, these are some of the reasons why I have chosen Comic Relief as my charity.
The potential audience for this website is going to be people who are directly interested in the on goings of the charity Comic Relief. The audience is going to have to be determined to make a difference by this I mean fundraising and donations, the demographics of these people will be young people up to the age range of approximately 17-20 years as they will mainly do there fundraising at schools, colleges and social clubs.
There are also middle aged people who will take part in fundraising events such as Runs, sports events.
The website will appeal to the audience for it will contain all the relevant information concerning the charity, this relevant information is dates for oncoming events such as Runs, sports events and all types of fundraising events to get the public involved. The information will also tell us about the work the charity had done previously in different countries, and what effect they made when they helped. Also the website will provide how to contact them and if the audience has any queries information will be provided.

Drafts for Website

These are the draft drawings of mine and mitchells website, we designed these before we began constructing our main website to get a real idea of what we wanted our website to look like. These drafts show the layout and font we wished to use in our website, from these drafts compared to our main website it shows that we have kept some of the ideas used.

Website and evaluation

Your website is enthusiastic: it’s logo at the top is almost iconic and I’m very please with the way both of you have handled this. Overall, I think the site is likely to be a low A, so should get about 50 marks out of 60.

Mrs Ward’s comments must be followed through. You need an extra two marks at the very least for the planning grade.

There is excellent understanding of the forms and conventions used in the productions and of the role and use of new media in various stages of the production. There is proficient understanding of the combination of main product and ancillary texts.

There is excellent skill in choice of form in which to present the evaluation. There is proficient ability to communicate excellent use of digital technology or ICT in the presentation.

Audience feedback will be done as a final blog.

I’d like you to check the websites (both of them) for spellings and any other typo’s, punctuation and other mistakes - I’ve found a few and corrected them on the copy I have.

Planning Grade: 14/20

You have carried out some excellent research into similar media products and a potential audience. Your blog is clear and organised.

EBI:
I would like to see drafts for your web pages - scanned/Photographed and uploaded
Your photographs should be presented in a slideshow (use iPhoto) and you can upload via scribd or slideshare.net - with this post you should include a brief reflection on your planning for and execution of your photography.
You need an audience profile post - this should be specific about WHO EXACTLY your target audience are based on your survey results.
you should upload your video and make a post with it explaining the purpose and how you did it
I would like to see industry research - who hosts web sites? how much does it cost? What is a domain name and how would you register one?
